As Christians we need to start talking about the injustice inherent in every infertility struggle. Infertility is a disease and a disability. The normal healthy functioning of my reproductive system should not be labeled elective. What makes the infertility journey so much more challenging is that infertility treatment and domestic infant adoption are so expensive and cost prohibitive for lower and middle class families. The grants and scholarships for infertility treatment and domestic infant adoption are too few. It’s a loss to have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to pursue your dream of motherhood because insurance dosen’t cover that expense, when that money can be used to cover other necessary expenses or pursue other dreams.
